Not every aspect of this business is beautiful and glamorous!  There are definitely some things that are down right Blah!  Take for instance, signage.  While very important to a business (conveying who we are and what we do), not exactly at the top of the most glam list.  However, we need it so it gets done.  But getting it done is no small feat.  We have to submit specs and designs and elevations.  We need sign-offs (no pun intended this time), we need landlord approvals and final fabrication checks.  We have been very fortunate to have the skilled people at Marietta Signs helping us through this process (chat with Luis D. for your sign needs).  Hopefully, the end result will be this….

We will know in a week or so so stay tuned for actual pictures of our sign up at the Shoppes at Ridenour.  But none the less I had to go through fun stuff like this (below)…. to get there!

You see it everywhere – initiatives associated with the concept of “Going Green”.  Whether its hybrids or recycling, everyone is trying to green up a bit.  Skin care is no different!  With that in mind we will be carrying a line of skin care products that is all organic and handmade in Hungary.  The packaging is all natural and recyclable materials but most importantly is gorgeous.  Check out the Rose Collection Bamboo product tube…

 Rose Collection Gift Set

Organic skin care is natural beauty you can see and feel…
The Eminence Organic Skin Care line offers a truly exquisite experience with products that are so natural that you can see the fresh fruit pulps, seeds, and smell the real herbs. The philosophy is simple and natural, and it fits with the modern need of finding a natural skin care solution.

Today is the first day of construction at the spa.  Good news in that we are actually under way – bad news in that the timeline is ridiculously tight.  I have begun ordering product, marketing materials, equipment and supplies.  If it wasn’t real in the past – it most certainly is now.  Our contractor Scott says 30 days – so keep your fingers cross for us that in a month we are moving in cabinet, curtains and appliances. We are now officially hiring Skin Care Therapists so if you know any licensed estheticians send them my way!

I Like Vanilla – It’s the Finest of the Flavors… February 18, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — facelogickennesaw @ 3:26 pm

So in the commercial real estate world, landlords deliver to their fabulous spa tenants (aka moi) something called a “vanilla shell”.  Said shell is basically a box with a lavatory and not much else.  As the fabu spa tenant, I have to build it out to its fullest gorgeous potential.  Now mind you, this vanilla shell is not much to look at but I want to share with you the “before picture” so when you come into visit you will know how far we have come from vanilla (and hopefully, all the way up to mint chocolate chip!).

mmmm vanilla

The goal is two months from now to have everyone join us for champagne and mint chocolate chip cones for the grand opening on April 30th. Stay tuned.

Voila! February 16, 2008

As promised, below is the picture of our location in Kennesaw, Georgia.  This will serve as the outside “before picture”.  The sign will be up in a month and the neighbors (Dunkin Donuts and a Dental Spa) will be open shortly.  Down the strip center from us is an Irish Pub called Keegan’s (which is now hiring if anyone is interested).

More pics of the inside coming soon (thanks to the hubby forgetting the key, I have none today :)   Hopefully, they will be up by the weekend.

The Perfect Chair! February 11, 2008

Part of the amazing spa experience at facelogic Town Center is the zero gravity spa chair.  The NASA inspired chairs are the perfect compliment to the custom facial offered at facelogic.  You will feel like you are floating as your masque sets and a skilled skin care therapist massages your shoulders, arms and hands.

the perfect chair

The chair is honestly called “The Perfect Chair”.  Made by HumanTouch, they say the chair ”evenly distributes your body weight to eliminate all pressure points, and the visco-elastic properties of this insert respond to your body’s unique contours to create an exact match between you and your chair.”  I just like to call it relaxing!

What is That Smell? February 7, 2008

Filed under: Products — facelogickennesaw @ 10:04 pm

I am not much of a strong scent person.  Fish in a microwave will send me screaming like my hair was on fire.  I prefer subtle scents that you have to work for to sniff.  So imagine my surprise when I found a diffuser where I actually enjoy the smell.  It is a little more earthy than my usual taste but I find it very fresh and clean.  Archipelago is a manufacturer of fine spa botanicals that we will offer at facelogic Town Center and the scent I am referring to is Eucalyptus…

While they offer a range of products you can view here www.archipelago-usa.com, I am most excited about these great diffusers which are not overpowering and certainly not fish in the microwave.

I am very excited about a new service facelogic will be offering: eye lash extensions!  This service is being market tested right now in both Cali and Texas spas.  We will be offering it when we open in April 2008.  I first saw this service on the Real Housewives of Orange County on Bravo and desperately sought it out.  As you know those beauty trend type things move from West to East in popularity.  And now it will finally be here in Atlanta.  Check out the results…

Lash Extensions

I will gladly be the first customer of this service.  Alia (my 13 year old daughter) is desperate to be the second person in line.  Cost should be around $219 for a full set.  Lovely!

Those of you who know me know how I love me some make up!  If the size of my lipstick bag I haul around everyday is any indication, you know I am crazy about it.  Several folks have asked me if we will be offering make-up at the spa and the answer is “of course, dahling it’s moi you are talking to”.  We will carry a line called Sue Devitt Cosmetics.  It is an all natural seaweed and botanicals based line that is good for your skin and can (and should) be applied after a facial.  Here is the make-up counter picture…..

Bureaucracy at Its Finest! February 5, 2008

Ah, there is nothing I love more than a rule just for the sake of a rule.  We found out today that the Federal Government requires two bathrooms (one men’s and one women’s) for the SBA Loan holders.  So much fun this process has been!  In the meantime, check out the lovely single bathroom in Irvine California.
